Obtaining an Override

Agriculture Science
Student will contact the
course instructor to request an override. If approved, the faculty member
will contact the departmental support office in Magruder 2004 directly for
processing. The student will be notified when the processing has been
completed, and that they may enroll for the course.
Anthropology, Geography, & Sociology
Student should
contact the course instructor for approval. The faculty member will
communicate the approval to the departmental support office in Barnett 2210.
The student will be notified when the processing has been completed, and that
they may enroll for the course.
Art
Student will
obtain and complete the standard override form. The faculty member
approves the override by signing the form, which is then submitted to the
departmental support office in Ophelia Parrish 1101 or the Dean’s office in
Magruder 3130 for processing.
Biology
Student will contact the
course instructor to request an override. If approved, the faculty member
will contact the departmental support office in Magruder 2004 directly for
processing. The student will be notified when the processing has been
completed, and that they may enroll for the course.
Chemistry
Student will contact the
course instructor to request an override. If approved, the faculty member
will contact the departmental support office in Magruder 2004 directly for
processing. The student will be notified when the processing has been
completed, and that they may enroll for the course.
Classical & Modern Languages
Student should
contact the course instructor for approval. The faculty member will e-mail
the approval to the departmental support office in McClain 310. The
student will be notified when the processing has been completed, and that they
may enroll for the course.
Communication
Student will contact the
course instructor to request an override. If approved, the faculty member
will contact the departmental support office directly for processing.
Economics
Student will
obtain and complete the standard override form. The faculty member approves the
override by signing the form, which is then submitted to the departmental
support office in McClain 214 or the Dean’s office in Magruder 3130 for
processing.
English & Linguistics
Student will contact the
course instructor to request an override. If approved, the faculty member
will contact the departmental support office directly for processing.
History
Student will

Justice Systems
Student will contact the
course instructor to request an override. If approved, the faculty member
will contact the departmental support office directly for processing.
Mathematics & Computer Science
Student will
obtain and complete the standard override form, which may be submitted to the
departmental support office in Violette 2100 or the Dean’s office in Magruder
3130 for processing. Faculty approval is not necessary, and faculty are
not directly involved in the override process.
Military Science
Student will contact the
course instructor to request an override. If approved, the faculty member
will contact the departmental support office directly for processing. The
student will be notified when the processing has been completed, and that they
may enroll for the course.
Music
Student will obtain and
complete the standard override form. The faculty member approves the
override by signing the form, which is then submitted to the departmental
support office in Ophelia Parrish 1101 or the Dean’s office in Magruder 3130 for
processing.
Philosophy/Religion
Student will
obtain and complete the standard override form, which will be submitted to the
Dean's Office in Magruder 3130. The student will also need to contact the course
instructor by e-mail requesting an override for the course. The instructor
will respond to the request by e-mail.
Physics
Student will contact the
course instructor to request an override. If approved, the faculty member
will contact the departmental support office in Magruder 2004 directly for
processing. The student will be notified when the processing has been
completed, and that they may enroll for the course.
Political Science
Student will

override by signing the form, which is then submitted to the departmental

Psychology
Student will
obtain and complete the standard override form. The faculty member approves the
override by signing the form, which is then submitted to the departmental
support office in McClain 214 or the Dean’s office in Magruder 3130 for
processing.
Important: All 300+ level PSYC courses have a Majors-only restriction for
the first two weeks of enrollment. This restriction is lifted on the morning of
the first day of freshmen enrollment (30-39.9 earned hours).
Theatre
Student will obtain and
complete the standard override form. The faculty member approves the
override by signing the form, which is then submitted to the departmental
